Ljubljana, Slovenija

After leaving the other Markleys, we drove to Ljubljana, the 200,000 people capital of Slovenija (now a member of the EU). Another language, another currency. The city is reminiscent of Prague, they say, with a bit of the Eastern block architecture amidst the charm of the older city and the Ljubljanica River. There is the Ljubljanski castle on a hill overlooking the main city centre Presernov plaza. The streets have local cafes and people, which is a relief from the hoards of tourists in Italy. The culture and music here is very Austrian, which is not surprising with the proximity and high mountains.

Apres avoir laisse les autres Markley, nous avons continue en voiture sur Ljubljana, la capitale de Slovenija de 200,000h. (maintenant membre de l'EU). Autre langue, autre monaie. La ville est tres calme et relaxante, reminiscante de Prague, dit-on, avec l'architecture de l'europe de l'est parmi le charme de la vieille ville et la riviere Ljubljanica. Il y a un chateau sur la colline qui donne sur la place Presernov. Dans les rues on entend les gens du pays dans les cafes, ce qui est un changement plaisant des foules touristiques d'Italie. La culture et la musique semblent Autrichiens, ce qui n'est pas surprenant vue la proximite du pays et des montagnes.
