Kaprikareas

The pleasures of being in a city of Ancient Europe. They are so rich in history; at every corner, there is a little jewel. This 11th century Byzantine church adorns a square in an otherwise very modern quarter. City planners wanted to destroy it in the last century when they built the area, but objections were raised, and they worked around it. In the centre of the picture, right beside the very full orange tree, stands Terry, at least two feet below the current street level.

Quel plaisir de nous promener dans une ville de l'ancienne Europe, si riche en histoire. A chaque coin de rue, un joyau. Cette eglise Byzantine, construite au 11eme siecle decore une place autrement moderne. Les urbanistes du siecle dernier ont failli la detruire car elle ne correspondait pas a leur plans pour le quartier. Heureusement, les objections qui ont suivi l'ont sauvee. Au centre de la photo, on voit Terry a cote du tres plein oranger, a pres de 2 pieds au dessous du niveau de la rue actuelle!
