Vancouver/Victoria

Just spent several days with family and friends in Vancouver/Victoria. Was great to spend a few days with Josianne, and see her lifestyle. She and I spent a lovely afternoon with Anne Campbell, who now lives in Victoria. Anne showed us the Swan Hotel, where she provides all the windows' flowers, and took us to her house for lunch and catch up chat. Terry was in Penticton for an "over 40" soccer tournament all week-end with his brother Rob and joined us late Monday night. (He got a beautiful goal in the last game to help his team win the bronze - Apparently, Rob entertained everyone with his famous old man walk imitation after each game) Josianne and I didn't wait for him to treat ourselves to a delicious Thanksgiving dinner, complete with drinks and dessert, at Fifth Street Bar and Grill. We ran into old Atlin friend Zacchariah Crow while shopping for groceries near UVic. How sweet. We were able to catch up on old and new times! Back in Vancouver, we had lunch with our dear friends Gary and MaryAnn. They both look great and as usual, had a few laughs. We also had a lovely "Markley" dinner out. Ruth was able to enjoy one of those rare times when all her four boys were together as well as 4 of the grandchildren and the precious great grandchild.

Nous venons de passer quelques jours à visiter famille et amis à Vancouver/Victoria. C'était bien de voir le style de vie de Josianne à Victoria. Nous avons passé un bel après-midi avec Anne Campbell. Elle nous a montré le bel hotel Swan où elle fait les jardinières aux fenêtres. Elle nous a emmenées chez elle où nous avons eu plaisir a jaser et diner ensemble. Terry était a Penticton tout le week-end à un tournoi de soccer avec l'équipe de "plus de 40 ans" de son frère Rob. (Il a marqué un beau but dans leur dernière partie qui les a placés en 3ème place - Apparemment, son frère Rob divertissait tout le monde après chaque partie avec son imitation de vieil homme). Josianne et moi n'avons pas attendu Terry pour nous offrir un délicieux souper d'action de grâce (avec dessert) au Fifth Street Bar and Grill. En faisant nos courses, nous avons par hazard rencontré notre vieil ami d' Atlin Zacharriah Crow, que nous n'avions pas vu depuis au moins 8 ans. Nous ne savions même pas qu'il vivait a Victoria. Nous avons pu nous remettre à jour dans les nouvelles (et vieilles). A Vancouver, nous avons pu réunir, occasion rare, Ruth et ses 4 fils, ainsi que 4 petits enfants et la seule arrière petite fille pour un souper au resto. Nous avons aussi diné avec nos chers amis Gary et MaryAnn. Ils avaient l'air en très bonnne forme malgré les temps difficiles qu'ils vivent depuis quelques mois. Comme toujours, nous avons bien ri ensemble.
