September 1, 2005: We are off!!

September 1, 2005.

Our 1st day off on our year long leave. In August, we were lucky enough to have our children reunited with us for the first time in 2 1/2 years. My sister Claudie, my father and Terry's mother took the opportunity to visit. We had a great time, commotion and all, and by September 4, every one had left again. Now, we had to focus on our travels, starting October 5. First, we had to get our house ready for the renters by September 15. We moved out of our Whitehorse home, and are in Atlin for 2 weeks of work on the get away house, to close it until next June. We will now rely on Internet cafes and phone cards for the next 9 months to communicate with loved ones.

Le 1er septembre était la première journée de notre année sabatique. En août, nous avons eu la chance d'avoir nos trois enfants réunis chez nous pour la première fois depuis 2 1/2 ans. Ma soeur Claudie, mon père et la mère de Terry ont profité de l'occasion pour aussi faire un tour. Plus on est de fous, plus on rit!! Mais tous étaient repartis le 4 septembre et nous nous sommes remis à nous préparer pour notre voyage qui débutera le 5 ocotbre. Nous avons commencé par préparer la maison pour les locataires, et l'avons quittée pour 9 mois le 15 septembre. Depuis, nous sommes a Atlin, pour continuer a travailler sur le chalet, et fermer le chantier jusqu'à juin prochain. Jusque là, nous comptons sur les cafés internet et les cartes de téléphones pour rester en contact avec nos proches.
